Why
Use Handcrafted Soaps
All
of the ingredients in our soaps are natural and beneficial to
the body and the skin. We use the finest base oils available such
as Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil,
Soybean Oil, Sesame Oil, Hazelnut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter,
Kukui Nut Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil and Walnut Oil. Our botanical
additives include Lavender Flowers, Chamomile Petals, Honey, Peppermint
Leaves, Orange Lemon and Lime Rind, Cinnamon, Calendula Petals, Jojoba Meal,
Paprika, Ground Walnut shells and Apricot Kernel Meal just to name a few.
Each ingredient provides its own special benefit. Soaps
containing jojoba oil will over time help to decrease wrinkles.
Those with Vitamin E aid in smoothing out dry rough patches. Avocado
goes to work on age spots and scars. Soaps stressing Kukui Nut
will repair damaged, wrinkled or mature skin. Several of our soaps
are designed to address specific skin conditions.
Yes, we do use sodium
hydroxide. There is no sodium hydroxide in the finished
product. The soap is a by product of the chemical process of
lye, water, oils and botanicals. You cannot have REAL soap
without lye.
Handmade soaps retain their natural glycerin so they will soften and smooth your skin, not dry it out. Just using a natural soap
without the chemical ingredients usually improves most skin conditions.
We use pure essential oils for fragrance. Each essential oil has
properties that on release deliver additional benefits. Our lavender
bar, for example, is a wonderfully scented bar that retains its
subtlety while relaxing the mind and healing the skin.
All of our formulae have been enhanced to provide increased levels
of emollients to maximize the moisturizing and conditioning effect.
Our soaps are entirely chemical free. The rich, creamy lather
you will experience is produced by Palm or Coconut Oil rather
than sodium laurel sulphate. All of our bars are cured for a minimum
of 4 weeks.
Each unique, hand cut bar is approximately 4 ounces. No dyes
are used. A range of colors is achieved through added herbs and spices. Brighter colors are achieved by using iron oxides and mica.
Our most popular items are the Lavender Body Bar, Shea Butter
Body Bar and Goat's Milk Facial Bar.
If you are tired of subjecting your skin to detergent bars pumped
out of large machines, give us a try - your skin will thank you!
